Because Sairy and New Age Amazon left off a few of my favorites:
1. The smell of leaves burning (you know, that indescribable smell of fall that I'm talking about?)
2. Crunchy brown leaves under my feet
3. Getting to wear fingerless gloves and a sweater and being warm enough outside
4. Knitting up new sweaters for the dog
5. Pulling out the guts of a Halloween pumpkin and then toasting up the seeds
So, today I went to the knitting circle at Sophie's Yarns and got to meet someone who I "met" on ravelry. It was really cool and we had a good time. It was only her 2nd day working there and she was all by herself - I felt kind of bad for her because she was running around and getting a lot of tough questions. But she seems really cool and hopefully we'll get to become friends.
I've taken a break from the Back to School sweater from fitted knits because I can't figure out how to do this stupid weird increase the pattern calls for. It makes me cranky. So I'm trying to finish up the Eagles dog sweater I started for Dash last fall but never got around to finishing. Bleh. At least *someone* will have a new sweater to wear.
Ravelry is like crack.
It's so worth the wait.
I'm beginning to realize that, comparatively speaking, I hardly have what one would call a "stash." Which is a good ting, I think. I still want to get rid of all of it, especially all of the yucky red heart yarn I bought for dog sweaters. I'm hoping to knit up a few and try to sell them so I'll have money for Christmas presents. I'm thinking if I take them to the little dog park and sell them for $20-$40 they'll go like hotcakes. Or maybe I'll see if my LYS will try selling one or two. It's hard to make profit on them though, unless you use cheap-ass yarn. I mean, who wants to spend $50 on a sweater for a dog? Well, I guess people do when they buy the sweaters from the pet boutiques, but seriously.
Speaking of dogs.
Okay everybody! I'm Dashaway so please add me as a friend!

I'm about 1/2 way through the back to school vest from Fitted Knits:
And in more exciting news, only 200+ people ahead of me on Ravelry! Wahoo!!!!!!!!!
Once I get this finished, I've got to get back to work on some sweaters for the Dash-man for the fall. I've got all of this yucky Red Heart yarn to use up.
Found you!

Finally done!!!!!!!
I had a hard time finding a clasp, until I remembered that there is a bead store down on South Street. I picked out a sterling silver one. I like it much better than the one she used in the book.
SO. The Back-To-School vest is already cast on. I'm using Rowan Felted Tweed in this green color with blue flecks. Wahoo!
I am currently working on the cap sleeve sweater from
After frogging this FOUR times, I am finally on my way. This is an incredibly easy pattern. So easy, I really wasn't paying attention while I knitted (knat) and kept messing up the raglan increases. I haven't decided what color the edging will be, probably a blue or green. I used a temporary cast on so that I won't have to pick up the stitches around the neck (yay). Now that I'm finally in to it, it's knitting up pretty quickly.
It is a bit odd having a new cat. It makes me miss Sophie so much more. Mostly because Felicity is the complete opposite of Sophie. But I think she is going to bring a lot of happiness to my little apartment, which is why I named her Felicity.
Now we are off to the vet for her first check up. She's been sneezing and coughing a lot, so she probably has a yucky cold.
